A career built on both practice and proof

Dr. Wang trained and practiced dentistry in China for close to three decades, ultimately serving as Chief of Oral Surgery at the Stomatology Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University — one of the leading dental teaching hospitals in eastern China. During that time he performed thousands of complex oral‑surgical procedures and taught the next generation of oral surgeons.

He relocated to the United States to pursue advanced training in dental science at the University of Utah School of Dentistry, one of America's premier institutions for translational craniofacial research. His subsequent clinical training culminated in a DDS and licensure to practice in New Jersey, where he founded Lightcare Dentistry PC to serve the Hillsborough community.

A mentor of the highest standing

During his research years at the University of Utah, Dr. Wang worked under the supervision of Prof. Rena D'Souza. Shortly after Dr. Wang's departure from Utah, Prof. D'Souza was appointed by the National Institutes of Health as Director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) — the highest academic post in American dental and craniofacial research.

Peer‑reviewed publications with a Nobel Laureate

Several of Dr. Wang's peer‑reviewed papers are co‑authored with Prof. Mario R. Capecchi — recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for the development of gene targeting in mice using embryonic stem cells. Co‑authorship in leading journals such as Oncotarget and the Journal of Clinical Investigation reflects sustained, substantive scientific collaboration.

A published case at the frontier of oral surgery

Dr. Wang's clinical range extends into what surgeons often call a “forbidden zone” — the skull base. A landmark emergency case, in which a steel reinforcement bar penetrated a patient's skull base and maxilla, was successfully managed and later published in the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, an international SCI‑indexed journal. For anyone with a medical background, publication of such a case is a substantive testament to surgical skill.
